PSI seeks qualified, dynamic candidates to serve as PSI Sudan's Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) Department Manager. The IMCI Department Manager is primarily responsible for the implementation of Global Fund Round 7 activities, including community case management of malaria and national distribution of long lasting insecticide treated nets (LLINs).
The IMCI Department Manager will also be responsible for designing and implementing IMCI models for pneumonia and diarrhea treatment. The core responsibilities in financial and programmatic management of all Global Fund and IMCI related projects include monitoring and evaluation of progress against targets, programmatic reporting, and financial oversight.
The IMCI Department Manager will be responsible for mentoring a 20+ member IMCI team and building their capacity in effective and efficient program implementation. Strategic planning, stakeholder relationship building, and fundraising are also essential components of this role. The position is based in Juba, Southern Sudan with 50% travel throughout the country and reports to the Country Representative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Leading the development and implementation of the PSI Sudan's IMCI program strategy, including development of annual marketing and communication plans and comprehensive logical frameworks for IMCI interventions.
· Providing rigorous financial and programmatic oversight of all IMCI donor budgets, implementation plans, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
· Recruiting, mentoring and managing IMCI staff.
· Building and strengthening relationships between PSI Sudan and key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health (MoH), partner organizations, and donors.
· Maintaining regular and constructive relationships with PSI Washington technical and programmatic management staff.
· Fundraising and proposal development for IMCI and community based management programming.
· Overseeing monitoring and evaluation of all activities to assess project effectiveness and efficiencies.
· Leading the dissemination of programmatic data and lessons learned with key partners, including the MoH and other Global Fund implementing partners.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.) preferred
· At least two years of experience managing complex, donor funded projects; experience managing Global Fund supported projects preferred
· Strong financial and programmatic management skills; previous experience managing public health projects in child survival preferred
· Demonstrated experience leading a diverse team and proven success in capacity building
· Demonstrated experience in fundraising and building constructive donor relationships
· Experience working in a post conflict and/or complex political environments; previous experience in Southern Sudan preferred
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills; interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; a proven ability to produce results in difficult circumstances; and the ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure.
